Import or Export Images etc.

Imported images start life any shape or size but are loaded onto Frames that are the same size as the rest of the stack.   If they are too small they are placed at the upper left corner of a new frame.   If too big the right an/or bottom is cropped so that they will fit in a Frame.   So far I have used them to add copyright notices to images and to load the individual images that go to make up a slide show.

The Export Rectangles function creates a folder and places a file in it for every Frame in the Stack, plus one for Out and one for the Picture.   You can use this facility to import the whole stack and the finished Picture etc into another program that can process 'Layers' for touching up and finishing off.   A file selector appears which gives you some control over the file names and final location.

Import and Export Depthmap have been used by some when the need has arrisen to modify the Depthmap outside CZM.   When the Depthmap is reloaded it is only meaningful if the same stack of frames is in memory that was there when the depthmap was exported.

These functions take a Depthmap in the form of a .bmp file.   The Red Channel contains absolute frame numbers with zero for Empty pixels, one for the bottom frame, then rising up the Stack.   The Green Channel contains values between 0 and 255. Value 1 is the bottom Frame and 255 the top; the other Frames are spread out evenly amongst the intermediate values; again zero means an Empty Pixel.   The Blue Channel carries some important information in the first few locations along the top row so do not modify it.

So you can Export a Depthmap, process it, and Import it again.   Remember, to get meaningful results the Stack must be in the same state at both stages.   A useful pair of functions here is Save Work and Resume Work, both on the Undo menu.   The sequence can then be:  Export Depthmap,  Save Work, leave CZ, edit Depthmap and resave, restart CZ, Resume Work, Import Depthmap.   You can combine this Depthmap with the Exported Rectangles above for editing, just make sure they are the same size.
